Mega Health Awareness Day and Recreational Activities Organized by the Commission for Health, Social Security, and Other Commissions.

On Saturday 10 August 2024, the Mega Health Awareness Day was organized by the Commission for Health, Social Security, and Other Services in collaboration with the Commission for Youth and Sport and the Commission for Family Welfare in the presence of the Chief Commissioner, Franceau Aubret Grandcourt, G.O.S.K, Commissioner for Health and others, Nicolas Volbert, Commissioner for Women and Family Welfare, Christiane Agathe, Commissioner for Youth and Sport ,Varok Ravina and the President of the Rodrigues Regional Assembly, Joseph Christian Leopold, G.O.S.K.

The event combined a significant community effort with a strong focus on raising awareness about critical health issues. The day began with a march, aiming at improving and promoting public health. Volunteers and community members walked together from Mourouk Anse Enfer to Mourouk Public Beach.

In addition, the event featured a range of health awareness initiatives. Free health screenings were offered, including tests for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, as well as screenings for HIV and Syphilis. These services provided valuable information and support to participants, highlighting the importance of early detection and preventive care.

The day also included various recreational activities designed to engage the community and promote a healthy lifestyle. Activities such as fitness sessions, sports events, among others were organized to encourage physical exercises and raise awareness about health and wellness.

The Mega Health Awareness Day was a successful event, reflecting the community’s commitment to health improvement. By combining hands-on activities with important health education, the event stress on the importance of maintaining a good health practices.

The Commission for Health, Social Security, and Other Services expressed gratitude to all volunteers and participants for their contributions and emphasized the ongoing need for community involvement in health initiatives.
