This highly anticipated annual event, which has been attracting kitesurfing enthusiasts from around the world since 2013, was officially launched on Wednesday 24th of July by the Chief Commissioner Franceau Aubret Grandcourt, G.O.S.K, in the presence of the Regional Assembly President, Joseph Christian Leopold, G.O.S.K., the Commissioner for Tourism, Jean Alain Wong So, Rodrigues Kitesurf Association President, Jean Chris Speville, and festival patron Oswald Smith, among others.
The 9th edition of the Rodrigues International Kitesurf Festival (RIKF) 2024, themed “BE SMART, GO GREEN,” was organized by the Rodrigues Kitesurf Association and took place from July 24 to 28 at Anse Mourouk, a globally renowned kitesurfing spot.
The event featured various competitions as well as sports and family activities in a festive atmosphere, including the Miss RIKF 2024 contest, which was won on Saturday 27th of July by Emilie Jahbeemissur.
The top champions of the competition were Louis Drany Clair from Rodrigues Island, in first place; Bertrand Lablache from the Seychelles, in second place; and Mathew Hogan Raboude from Rodrigues Island, in third place. Notably, Drany Clair secured his fourth consecutive title at this festival.
The festival concluded with awards presented to the winners by the Chief Commissioner Franceau Aubret Grandcourt, G.O.S.K., and the Commissioner for Tourism, Jean Alain Wong So.
