COMMISSION FOR YOUTH & ORS
Youth Leadership Training
About us
Youth leadership is the practice of engaging young people in decision-making processes, empowering them to take on leadership roles, and developing their abilities to influence positive change within their communities and beyond. Youth leadership activities are structured programs or initiatives that aim to cultivate leadership skills, self-confidence, responsibility, and a sense of community among young individuals.
Youth Leaders, Youth Club members, members of the Rodrigues Regional Youth Council and other youths of the respective regions of the island regularly participate in leadership-oriented activities organised by the Commission or other partners.
Different Youth Leadership activities available for youths in Rodrigues:
- Workshops and Training Programs: Focused sessions on specific leadership skills. (Conferences, meetings, training on specific matters)
- Community Service Projects: Involvement in local volunteer initiatives.
- Youth Councils and Committees: Participation in decision-making bodies within communities. (Youth Leaders Committee, RRYC)
- Mentorship Programs: Pairing young people with experienced leaders for guidance and support. (PPEJ, Atelier de Savoir)
- Leadership Camps and Retreats: Intensive programs that combine learning with practical leadership experiences. (DOFE, Residential Team building activities for Youth Leaders)
