About Us
Discovery Rodrigues Co Ltd (DRCL) is a private company owned by the Rodrigues Regional Assembly and was incorporated on 15 November 2006. The company is segmented into two (2) different sections, namely ;
- The Rodrigues Tourism Office (RTO) – which officiates as the body responsible for the marketing and promotional activities of the island
- Discovery Site Management – which manages two (02) touristic sites namely Caverne Patate and Ile aux Cocos
Roles and Functions of DRCL
- To develop, operate and manage touristic sites vested in the Company by the Rodrigues Regional Assembly
- To ensure efficient and environment-friendly development of tourist’s attraction sites, respecting all ecological and environmental norms
Roles and Key Functions of RTO
Regularly attending tourism fairs in main tourism generating areas, example; Mauritius, Reunion, France, Germany, etc…- Organization of road shows both in Mauritius and abroad
- Organisation of educational and familiarization tours for journalists and tour operators
- Placement of advert both in Mauritian and foreign magazines
- Compilation of useful data in connection to tourism arrival and place of origin
- Analyzing statistics and updating of website
- Operating of Facebook and other related social media accounts
- Issuing of brochures, posters, guides and maps which would be used both during tourism fairs and they are also distributed to tourists by the Tourism Information Officer
