Mission
  • To formulate policies, programmes and projects and advise on the framing of appropriate legislation in the fields of Arts and Culture, Museum, Archives and Heritage in line with Government policy
  • To ensure the proper functioning of the Arts and Culture department and Museum, Archives, Historical Site and Buildings Department
  • To promote Arts and Culture through cultural exchanges
  • To provide assistance to artists
  • To promote Rodriguan culture and heritage through research and publications
  • To encourage the development of a creative and cultural industry and promote the creation of creative businesses
  • To promote and ensure the preservation of the collective memory of the nation and the Rodriguan heritage and history
  • To set up a multidisciplinary museum which will include artifacts related to the natural, historical and cultural aspects of Rodrigues
  • To collect, preserve and make accessible the collective memory of the Island
  • To manage the acquisition, preservation and storage of artifacts relating to history, geology and culture of Rodrigues and exhibit the collected artifacts
  • To ensure the safeguarding of built heritage and intangible cultural heritage
  • To foster the intergenerational transmission of traditional know-how through proper management and promotion of Rodriguan heritage
  • To promote Rodriguan history
