Services provided varies upon the section being consideredas shown below :

OPERATIONAL SECTION :

• Save life, prevent, fight, control and extinguish fires
• Protect persons, animals, property and the environment against fire or any other emergency
• Advise the public on prevention and protection measures in the event of a fire or any other emergency
• Conduct awareness in relation to any aspect of fire and emergency preparedness
• Assist other authorities in fighting fire, protect environment in case of emergency
  Provide Rescue and extrication services to any person, animal or property endangered as a result of a road or other accident
• Submit reports to authorities
• Participate in management, prevention, mitigation and reduction of disasters and assist the Rodrigues Emergency Operation Command in the execution of its duties
• Perform special service in accordance with the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service Act 2013. Application form to be submitted available on Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service Website
• Perform Fire Safety coverage in different activities upon formal request
• Payment may be requested, applicant is required to fill an application for special service form, if it is a non-government body. Application is available on the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service Website
• Deal with Educational Visit upon request by Educational institution
• Convey sick persons to hospital, requested by the public everyday
• Perform fire safety duties in Port Area on the docking of MV Vessels
• Deal with oil spillage at sea or on Earth and in the Port Area

ADMINISTRATIVE SECTION :

• To ensure that all correspondences are being despatched on time to the Commission of Health & Others – record of leaves, important and confidential letters and everything thing connected to Fire and Rescue Services
• We are responsible of the record of leaves for the 71 Fire Services staffs on a monthly basis, for example: casual leave, sick leave, casual against vacation leave and vacation leave and we ensure that their request is despatched to the Commission of Health & Others
• Filing of documents for the smooth running of the service
• Make sure of proper record and follow up of fire call report and fire investigation report throughout the year.
• Provide the Fire Service Staff with forms, for example: vacation leave, refunded leave, sick leave, casual leave and vacation leave forms on demand
• We make sure of the follow up of the number of fire throughout the year
• Follow up of the number of fire and non-fire incidents on a monthly basis and provide statistics of fire at the end of the year
• We are responsible of all issues pertaining Uniform (from its purchase to its arrival), procurement and also all request for purchase and do follow ups
• All important information goes through the Administrative Office first and then communicate to others
• We keep and update all documents about the Fire Service Staffs and the Fire and Service transport

PREVENTION SECTION :

The duties rendered by the above mention section is to deal with all aspect concerning fire safety measures related to Trade & Licencing, Tourism Licensing, Building Permit, Child Day Care and Public Building are as follow:
