About Us

The Housing Division is responsible mainly for the formulation of strategies and policies in the Social Housing Sector and for the implementation of the social housing programs of the Government. A special attention is given to the vulnerable and low income families who are facing much difficulties to have a decent housing.

Roles and Functions

The Commission for Housing offers a variety of housing assistance to eligible beneficiaries through the social housing schemes below;

  1. New Social Housing Scheme- Provision of 50m2 or 60m2 concrete housing unit
  2. Upgrading of existing Trust-Fund unit up to 60 m2
  3. Infrastructure to Needy Families Scheme –Provision of Corrugated Iron Sheet 2 rooms
  4. Elderly Housing Scheme- Provision of a housing unit to the elderly
  5. Basic Sanitary Scheme – Provision of bathroom and toilets to the medically unfit beneficiaries
  6. Grant for Casting/Recasting of Roof Slab Scheme
  7. Grant for Elderly Slab Scheme
