About Us
The ICT Department is divided into three sections, namely the Operation Unit, the Training Unit and the Business and Research Unit. The Department is headed by the ICT Manager. We are currently staffed with five Assistant Systems Analyst and one Computer Support Officer.
The ICT Department has for main responsibility to assist the Commission in developing new projects and activities in the ICT Sector for the benefit of the population. We also have as responsibilities to:
- Provide Technical support to staffs of the RRA
- Develop training course for the public
- Assist investor in the ICT Sector to settle
Mission
- To develop the appropriate ecosystem to favor the development of the ICT Sector by setting up the right infrastructure, providing necessary facilities and empowering the local human resources
Service to the Public
- Provide relevant ICT Training Courses to the population through the collaboration with other stakeholders. Most of the training course are delivered at the ICT Centre for Excellence
- We have also setup Learning Corners in Villages where we have put computers and Internet connectivity at the disposal of the villagers
- Wi-Fi Spots have been setup in collaboration with ICTA in 24 locations in Rodrigues to provide free internet connection to the public
- Currently running course in Fundamental of ICT/BPO Business in collaboration with the HRDC
